Our school sends out a monthly newsletter (end of each month), offering a snapshot of what we have achieved together. Newsletters also include attendance data, details of upcoming events, and any community information we have received, such as local clubs or activities.
For more regular updates and to see what we’re up to day-to-day, families can follow us on our social media platforms. In addition, families are given login details for Seesaw, where teachers regularly update class pages with photographs and news from the classroom.

As the summer term gathered momentum, St. Oswald’s CE Primary enjoyed another busy month packed with adventure, achievement and celebration. Pupils embraced opportunities including hockey tournaments, football fixtures, music lessons and residential experiences, consistently demonstrating resilience, teamwork and determination. Goldfinches pupils began learning the trumpet with the Love Music Trust, while Year 6 approached SATs week with maturity and positivity before enjoying well-deserved celebrations. The unforgettable Min-Y-Don residential provided pupils with exciting challenges including canoeing, archery, bushcraft and high ropes, helping to create lasting memories and strengthen friendships across the year group.

Spring term brought a wide range of memorable events and celebrations to St. Oswald’s CE Primary, showcasing the enthusiasm and achievements of pupils across the school. World Book Day inspired creative writing and dance workshops themed around Pinocchio, while Year 5 celebrated success by winning Abbey Gate College’s Easter Quiz competition. Families joined together for Easter Stay and Pray events, Comic Relief fundraising and a successful PTA Easter Bingo evening, helping to strengthen the school community. Pupils also enjoyed the Sponsored Bunny Hop in support of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, successful sporting competitions and the exciting Tattenhall residential, where children developed resilience, independence and teamwork through outdoor adventures.

February was filled with exciting opportunities for pupils to demonstrate creativity, confidence and teamwork across school life. Children took part in NSPCC Number Day, combining maths activities with fundraising, while sports teams proudly represented the school in netball and multi-skills festivals. The Robins led a special Valentine’s worship celebrating kindness and friendship, and pupils were inspired by memorable visits from Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, drama workshop leaders and the Chester School Sports Partnership film crew. Rise & Shine Club continued to thrive with fun creative experiences and outdoor activities, while anticipation grew for upcoming World Book Day celebrations.
