Harmony and Talent: Our Music Development Plan

Music at St. Oswald’s CE Primary School – At St. Oswald’s, we value the Arts and the rich opportunities they provide for our pupils — from discovering hidden talents to building confidence through performance, both individually and as part of a group.

Our Music curriculum is delivered through Charanga, a progressive scheme that develops children’s skills in listening, performance, improvisation, and playing instruments. This structured approach ensures that pupils experience a broad and engaging music education as they move through school.

In addition to curriculum lessons, we offer a range of exciting musical opportunities, including a Singing Club, piano lessons, and even the chance to be part of a Rock Band (all arranged through parents).

We are proud of the role music plays in school life and look forward to seeing how these experiences inspire our children, both now and in the future.

Here you’ll find our Music Development Plan, outlining how we continue to grow and enhance music at St. Oswald’s.
